Week 3, Day 15

75°F, nice wind blowing in from the southwest, partly cloudy. Great day for a run with my favorite running partner.

Today's run was slightly better than the last. I think it would have gone a lot better if I had run in the morning when it wasn't quite so warm. It's not that hot out, but running gets your blood boiling once you get going.

I've still been slacking off with my strength training and aerobic. I just can't even seem to find the time these days. Bad bad bad. At least I'm eating better. I had soy yogurt with ground flax seed for breakfast, and I'm going out for lunch with my mom and sis, probably to this pub in town that serves really yummy hummus wraps.

On the drive down to the track, I was talking to my sister about running and how it's going to make us less fat. This was her comment:

"Fuck, I just want to be able to outrun the zombies."
Shouldn't we all?

Yesterday, Sis and I took the dogs to Sauvie Island. I haven't been everywhere yet, but I'm pretty sure that Sauvie is my favorite place in all of Oregon.

We're leaving for Colorado next Thursday (the 3rd) and will probably be back on Sunday or Monday, so I may miss a run or two. But Curly Joe is more than worth it! I've got to smooth out some details with his foster mother; she's going to have him neutered, yay, but I want him to have pre-surgery labs done to make sure he's OK to go under anesthesia. He had a seizure in May, and that makes me nervous. She also needs to get a travel certificate from her vet that shows it's OK for Curly to cross (several) state lines.

Well, I've got some pictures to upload and I've still got to call Curly Joe's foster mom, so I'm going to post this and edit it later.

See you on Thursday!

Being able to outrun the zombies is very important. No one wants to be zombie chow.

Amen to that. I'm going to need these brains someday.
